What sort of education or background do you need to get certified? The best hypnotists come from people who have an interest in helping others change their lives. Nurses, teachers, massage therapists, and doctors all make good hypnotists, but I also know of wonderful hypnotists who have succeeded coming from other back grounds such as stay-at-home moms, computer programmers, lawyers, salespersons, teachers, and my background as a radio broadcaster. Is there on-going support and help while you are learning? 5-PATHERS are a very close-knit community and experienced hypnotists of this school are known for reaching back to help others . For that reason, probably the number one reason any 5-PATH hypnotist is successful is because of the on-going support that is available. There are materials you can purchase, a message board and an on-going on-line study group. Plus, in the works now a mentorship program for Family First Hypnosis graduates.

What sorts of problems do 5-PATH hypnotists see and work with? We work with every day people with every day problems. We do not work with mental illness and only with medical conditions if we have a referral from a physician. Some of the clients I have now are for Weight loss, stopping smoking, fear of performing (singer), overcoming emotions due to betrayal by a spouse, habitual sadness, adjusting to life changes including a move and a breakup, overcoming blocks to career success, better concentration, hair pulling, bedwetting, overcoming intense grief over the passing of a loved one, overcoming anger, and many others. How long are the classes? Where are they? How much do they cost? The classes are held in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. They run either for two weeks or for 3 three day weekends usually over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The classes, at this writing, cost $1995.00 when you sign up at the last minute and $1795.00 when you sign up early. The early bird price and date are on the website. The classes may cost less at times for special promotions.

Is there a governing board or a ethics board for 5-PATH hypnotists? To be certified as a 5-PATH hypnotist at Family First Hypnosis also means you will be certified with the National Guild of Hypnotists a very large and prestigious governing body for hypnotists founded in 1951. http://www.ngh.net.
